Events and Activities of the Centre for the Study of Medicine and the Body in the Renaissance (CSMBR)

Aims and strategies

The CSMBR furthers the widest international cooperation of scholars, by encouraging PhD students and early career researchers of any nationality to study the history of medicine and science (broadly construed, including the study of classics, intellectual and social history of science, philosophy and history of philosophy, history of the book, philology, lexicography, etc.)

The specific instruments by means of which the CSMBR aims at promoting the history of medicine and the body are:

  • Grants, Fellowships, Awards for Excellence in Research
  • Conferences, Symposia, Workshops, Summer Schools, Masters, Erasmus, etc.
  • Publications of articles, studies, conference, proceedings and books through the CSMBR series (submitted and currently under evaluation of the Editor Palgrave MacMillan).
