Comèl Grant

The grant is meant to support young scholars willing to partake in the events organised by the centre, either online or in person. It is named after Marcello Comèl (1902-1996), founder of the Institutio Santoriana Fondazione Comel, a versatile polyglot and an early supporter of the wider integration of the European research community.

The Scheme at a Glance

The scheme is accessible to CSMBR members throughout the year.

It is open to Bachelor’s and Master’s Students including PhDs who have not yet discussed their viva.

All CSMBR events are eligible, with the only exception of Summer Schools, which are covered by the Santorio Fellowship.

Conditions of the Grant

The grant consists of a gratuity or a travel grant to attend an event. In special cases, both can be supplied against actual expenditures.

Application Process

Applicants should send a cover letter (max. 300 words), CV (max. 2 pages) and a reference letter from their supervisor which shall be addressed to the Director of the CSMBR within the application deadline. Applicants must motivate their interest in the event supported by the grant against current or future research projects. 

Follow Up

As a further condition of the Grant, successful applicants will have to write a short article or report on the topic of their research for the Blog Forma Fluens.
