Located in the heart of Dublin, the Edward Worth Library is a remarkable historical library that houses an extensive collection of rare books and manuscripts from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Established in 1733 by Dr. Edward Worth, a prominent physician and bibliophile, the library is renowned for its rich assemblage of works in medicine, science, literature, and the arts. The Edward Worth Library serves as a vital resource for scholars and historians, fostering a deeper understanding of early modern Europe.
The Centre for the History of the University of Padua, established in 1922, promotes the historical knowledge of the University of Padua and its connections with Italian and European culture. Legally recognised in 1981, the Centre is dedicated to research, preservation, and the promotion of studies on the University’s history, closely collaborating with the General Archive of the University and supporting teaching and scientific research through various initiatives.
Founded on 1st December 1994, ZRS, the Science and Research Centre of Koper (Slovenia), has a rich history of research excellence. From 2003 to 2015, it was the main research hub of the University of Primorska. Reestablished as a public research institute in 2016, ZRS Koper’s research activities are grounded in interdisciplinary work, involving humanities, social and natural sciences, with a focus on the environments of the Mediterranean, the upper Adriatic region and central Europe.
The López Piñero Inter-University Institute is a research centre dedicated to research and dissemination of historical and social studies on medicine, technology, science and the environment. The Institute is located in the centre of Valencia, Spain, where the historical library and the scientific collection of the University of Valencia are housed, with permanent and temporary monographic exhibitions.
The Institute for Archaeology and Ethnography NAS RA of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia is an independent institute that engages in scientific research primarily in the fields of archaeology, ethnology, and folkloristics. With a team of around two hundred specialists, the Institute produces a substantial volume of scholarly work every year, including articles, conference proceedings, books, and other scientific materials.
The Institute for the Preservation of Medical Traditions (IMPT) is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Los Angeles and Washington DC and devoted to fundamental research. It furthers the knowledge of ancient medicine, by encouraging, generating, and practicing collaborative work across a vast array of disciplines.
The Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists (HWPS) – University of Paderborn furthers research on women philosophers and scientists throughout European history with a special focus on the Enlightenment and Phenomenology. It grants the Elisabeth of Bohemia Prize which is awarded to an internationally recognized philosopher for outstanding services to research on women in the history of philosophy.
