A joint initiative of the Centre for the Study of Medicine and the Body in the Renaissance (CSMBR) and Brepols, this scheme supports MA and PhD (and, exceptionally, BA) students pursuing training in philology and digital humanities through a residency at Brepols’ facilities in Turnhout, Belgium.

The Scheme at a Glance
The scheme, accessible to CSMBR members, provides students (MA and PhD, exceptionally BA) with up to six months’ accommodation at Brepols’ own premises or nearby. Accommodation (worth €2,400) will be provided at no cost to the fellow.
Conditions of the Grant
To be eligible, applicants must have a university-level command of Latin. They must be willing to take up the entire fellowship—or at least the longer (and initial) part of it—in situ at the Brepols offices.
Applicants must also hold a current affiliation with a university or research institution, providing a suitable framework for undertaking the fellowship.
Application Process
The application, to be submitted online, consists of a short CV (max. 2 pages), a motivation letter (1 page), plus the name and contact details of one academic referee.
Follow Up
Fellows’ contributions to Brepols’ online resources (or other publications) will be acknowledged in all relevant publications and resources. Formal placement attestations will also be provided if needed.
As part of the biennial CSMBR Winter School Studiolo: Digital Humanities Lab, fellows will also be invited to contribute their expertise through one or more dedicated presentations.
